Peter Wandera has been working at (TIU) as the ED since 2012 to date. Prior to joining TIU, Mr Wandera worked for 12 years at the Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (DENIVA) as the Assistant Executive Director. He had previously worked in the coffee industry for 10 years. He is a holder of an MA (Public Administration and Management) in which he specialised in Public Administration and Finance Management,
and also holds a BA (Social Sciences) both attained at Makerere University Kampala. He is an experienced Administrator, having worked at top management levels both in the private (profit) and the non-profit sectors for a combined period of over 20 years. His main expertise is NGO management. Mr Wandera has keen interest in issues of development and public accountability. He is involved in activities related to Poverty Monitoring, Public Expenditure and Utilisation Tracking, and in issues of NGO development and sustainability. His current position at Transparency International has greatly enhanced his interest in Public Accountability issues at all levels, and in all sectors.
